Thanks to archaeological findings and the deciphering of Cuneiform and Egyptian hieroglyphs we now know a lot about the oldest cultures in Europe and the Middle East. This chapter deals with some of the most interesting cultures of Antiquity, like the Egyptians, Greeks and Romans. The main focus is on the way of living and culture. The religion of these peoples will be discussed in chapter three. The most important change in this period was the switch from hunting and gathering to farming. Some historians think this was the biggest change in all of human history.
